Previously held in China, Canada, the Czech Republic and Japan, this year's the Symposium on Digital Earth was held in Berkeley, California until June 9th, 2007.

The French satellite imaging company, Spot Image, presented Planet Action, which supports projects that assess climate change impacts and propose adapting actions regarding vegetation, ecosystems, ice cover, human habitation etc. They were discussing and presenting various information regarding the only one Earth.

Sheraton & Hilton

I love travelling and staying at nice hotels, so recently stayed at the Sheraton in San Diego and at the Hilton in La Jolla. Regarding Sheraton, both the East and West wings of this hotel have pools, jacuzzis and gyms. The pool in the East wing is adjacent to the Yacht harbor.
I love the deep blue color of Sheraton's room. The thing I don't like is the noisy sound of airplanes.

Hilton has also classy room and its pool is huge with lots of tropical flowers. But one sad thing. The walls are thin, so I could hear the sounds from other rooms. I used priceline for reservation. Yes, I bet on them, and despite the high season, the price was relatively OK. Maybe next time, I can do better.

Last Week

Last week, I attended conferences including O'Reilly's Where 2.0, Health & Fitness Expo, Energy Summit 2007, INBOX and Google Developer Day. Due to the hard work, I have overused my notebook PC and had to buy a new one with tons of memory.....

SV->SD->SV

I've nicely lived in Bay Area for about 10 years now, and spend a lot of time traveling for writing. Just came back from sunny San Diego, visiting the 44th DAC, Design Automation Conference, this year held until June 8 in the San Diego Convention Center, which is located next to a Marriott hotel. You can check the detail of DAC @www.dac.com. During my stay in SD, I checked out things as follows; University of California San Diego (UCSD), Scripps Research Institute, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon 2007 event, Sheraton, Valencia and Hilton Hotels etc. Enjoyed marvellous sea sights and food. Yet nice to be back home and meet neighbors and cats again.
